My name is Bailey Wallam, a Wilman and Koreng Noongar artist and the creator behind The Westside Project.
I have strong family connections to Wagin and Katanning, and I grew up on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, which continues to shape who I am and how I create. I officially started my business at the end of 2024, focusing on hand painted boots and shoes, and since then I have been fortunate to work with athletes across almost every major sporting league in Australia.My art is deeply influenced by my culture.
I take inspiration from traditional Noongar art, especially the work created by the children of Carrolup Native Settlement, whose pieces carry so much emotion and history. I am also inspired by the art and creativity passed down through my own family, including my mum, aunty and grandparents, who have all played a role in shaping my style and passion.
Through The Westside Project, I aim to bring culture, storytelling and identity into a modern space, sharing it on a platform that reaches far beyond where I started.

Jersey Design:

The circles with arches are to represent all the communities that the wildcats bring together.

The footprints are to represent the journey that the Wildcats have had to be the most successful club in the NBL

The circles and lines between each one are to represent the Noongar communities around WA

This is to represent the body of the Wagyl and its importance to our people

These are my representation of tree limbs as wood was a very important part of Noongar life. Giving us tools to survive.

Finally we have the water around Perth that has provided the greater Noongar community with sustenance for thousands of years
